yes thank you. after locating and removing the 1st shorted capacitor, i did not bother to check the other lines for short too. till next time i guess.

manage to switch this on for less than a second. power button blinks. 3 & 5v is now present after switch on.

those are shorted to ground (diode mode) going to the N2840 chip. probably needs reballing or even replacement.

i tried flashing both. but same issue. with an ac adapter plug in, the power is flashing brighter. it does not switch off completely. its on always but becomes brighter and blinking. do you think the I/O controller is bad? its an IT8528E chip, it has an external spi ship for the EC. if i replace the...

not powering on, when power source is plug in battery or ac, the power led comes on bright. the signal for led indicator comes from the i/o controller yes? what does this mean?

turns out more shorted components. replaced capacitors, mosfets, kbc.. still waiting for some parts replacement :(

Short on +5VALWP line

eMachines eM250 KAV60 LA-5141P no power on. adapter power is good. how to deal with short on the +5VALWP after the inductor. tried supplying external 5v on the line but the supply wire gets very hot and starts to melt the insulating material. i am using an Ethernet cable for the supply wire. thanks
